What Are eBay Selling Limits?

eBay sets monthly selling limits to help new and growing sellers manage risk and maintain buyer trust.

These limits cap both:

• The number of items you can list
• The total dollar value of items you can sell per month

These limits cap only:

• The number of items you can list
• Not the $ value of the items you list

Where to Find Your Limits

You can check your monthly selling limits anytime:

1. Go to Seller Hub
2. Scroll to the Monthly Limits section under the Overview tab

Example display:

“You’ve listed or sold 0 items of your 10,000,000 item monthly limit. You can sell up to $50,000,000 more.”

Types of Limits

Account Limits

The total number and value of all items you can sell each month.

Category Limits

Restrictions applied to specific categories (e.g., Electronics, Clothing) when you’re new to selling in them.

How to Increase Your Limits

1. Automatic Review

eBay automatically reviews your account every month. If your performance is strong: consistent shipping, few cancellations, and positive feedback, your limits may increase automatically.

2. Manual Request

You can manually request a limit increase via:

• • Seller Hub → Monthly Limits section
  • My eBay → Selling → Monthly Limits

Important Tips

• GTC (Good ’Til Cancelled) listings count toward your monthly limits.
• If you exceed your limit, eBay may end listings automatically, you can relist once your new cycle begins or after a limit increase.
• Keep performance metrics high, on-time tracking, accurate descriptions, and great service help unlock higher limits.
