Handling Order Cancellations

The Order Inquiries page has two cancellation tabs: one to cancel an order you placed (Cancel Order) and one to handle buyer-requested cancellations (Cancellations).

Buyer cancellation requests

  • If the order has not shipped, accepting is usually the right call. It avoids a return later and keeps the buyer happy.
  • If it has already shipped, you cannot cancel; let the buyer know and handle it as a return if needed.

Canceling an order yourself

Use this when you cannot fulfill (item out of stock at the source, pricing error, or address problem). Cancel before the buyer opens a case.

Why it matters

Cancellations affect your seller metrics, especially seller-initiated "out of stock" cancellations. Keep them rare by watching your Catalog so you do not list items you cannot source.

Tip

The cleanest cancellation is the one you never have to make. Accurate stock and pricing on your listings prevents most of them.
